Local Artists Endorse Pat Higgins

One of Ken Jarvela's paintings, which beautify Pat Higgins' signs.
“I have always supported Pat’s positions and as a landscape painter I have always been particularly interested in environmental issues. I wanted to show that Pat’s campaign is connected to the landscape. While everyone is concerned about the environment, Pat knows what we need to do. The scene I painted shows our beautiful coastline south of Trinidad.” Ken Jarvela
“It is because of the county’s gorgeous and varied landscape, abundant wildlife and rural quality of life that so many artists make Humboldt home. With such important land use decisions coming before the Supervisors next year, we feel that it is important for artists, who draw so much inspiration from the land and invest so much time honoring it through our art, to engage in this election.”
Gary Bloomfield.
"From talking to him and following his positions with the Harbor District, I see how Pat understands the great dilemma of era: Finding creative and innovative strategies that preserve the environment for future generations while sustaining and growing local economy. He's willing to get to work as a supervisor, avoid simplistic solutions, and find the middle way that will create a better future." Rick Tolley
